The Philadelphia Department of Public Health has been awarded $1 Million from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to increase adult immunization rates.
The Department is working with the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association, Philadelphia Association of Retail Druggists, National Nursing Centers Consortium, Health Federation of Philadelphia, and other local community organizations.
These are the main goals of this project:
- Educate pharmacists about the recommended adult vaccines
- Educate community health centers, large hospital networks, and federally qualified health centers
- Ensure that all pharmacists and healthcare providers have access to accurate patient immunization histories
- Launch a media campaign to inform the public about adult vaccines
This project is currently in development. More information will be posted soon.
