{"id":14440,"date":"2026-07-15T09:05:00","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T13:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vaccines.phila.gov\/?p=14440"},"modified":"2026-07-07T13:51:59","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T17:51:59","slug":"heads-up-cdc-vaccine-outreach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vaccines.phila.gov\/index.php\/heads-up-cdc-vaccine-outreach\/","title":{"rendered":"Heads Up: CDC Vaccine Outreach"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For certain vaccines, the CDC may reach out to your organization to verify whether the correct quantities and vaccine products ordered were delivered.\u00a0The CDC conducts this verification process to ensure that vaccines shipped directly from manufacturers are delivered in accordance with CDC\u2019s vaccine contract.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Why?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most vaccines distributed through CDC vaccine programs are shipped by CDC\u2019s centralized vaccine distributor, McKesson. However,\u00a0<strong>varicella and MMR-varicella vaccines from Merck<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer\u00a0<\/strong>are shipped directly from manufacturers to provider sites.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>When?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CDC should reach out\u00a0<strong>within one week of vaccine delivery<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CDC will contact\u00a0<strong>a random sample of sites that have recently received these vaccines<\/strong>. CDC will attempt to verify vaccine delivery status by\u00a0<strong>phone<\/strong>.
