Adults should\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/measles\/hcp\/vaccine-considerations\/index.html#cdc_generic_section_2-presumptive-evidence-of-immunity:~:text=Adults%20and%20teens,1989%20or%20otherwise).\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/measles\/hcp\/vaccine-considerations\/index.html#cdc_generic_section_2-presumptive-evidence-of-immunity:~:text=Adults%20and%20teens,1989%20or%20otherwise).\">be up to date on MMR vaccinations<\/a> with either 1 or 2 doses (depending on risk factors); unless they have other presumptive evidence of immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Adults with <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/measles\/hcp\/vaccine-considerations\/index.html#cdc_generic_section_2-presumptive-evidence-of-immunity\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/measles\/hcp\/vaccine-considerations\/index.html#cdc_generic_section_2-presumptive-evidence-of-immunity\"><strong>presumptive\u202fevidence<\/strong><\/a><strong> of immunity\u202finclude:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Presumptive evidence of immunity can be established in any of the following ways:&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Written documentation of adequate vaccines for measles, mumps, and rubella\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Laboratory evidence of immunity (positive IgG titer)\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Laboratory confirmation of disease\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Birth before 1957 (unless they are a healthcare worker)\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. People without presumptive evidence of immunity should get at least one dose of MMR vaccine\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Certain adults should receive two doses of vaccine, separated by at least 28 days if they don\u2019t have presumptive evidence of immunity.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no maximum time between the two doses. These adults include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students at post-high school education institutions\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Healthcare personnel\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>International travelers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Close contacts of immunocompromised people\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>People with HIV infection and are not severely immunosuppressed\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Healthcare workers\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They must have either documentation of two doses of vaccine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>or laboratory evidence of immunity (positive IgG titer).\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Birth before 1957 is not adequate evidence of immunity in this group.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Adults who previously received a dose of measles vaccine in 1963\u20131967:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>and are unsure which type of vaccine it was or are sure it was inactivated (killed) measles vaccine, should be revaccinated with one dose of MMR vaccine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>or, if they fall into high-risk categories (refer #3 and #4), two doses of MMR vaccine.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>People who have documentation of receiving LIVE measles vaccine in the 1960s do not need to be revaccinated unless they fall into high-risk categories (refer #3 and #4). \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>6.
