{"id":11105,"date":"2024-08-30T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-08-30T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vaccines.phila.gov\/?post_type=lsvr_notice&#038;p=9134"},"modified":"2024-09-11T15:49:43","modified_gmt":"2024-09-11T19:49:43","slug":"bridge-access-program-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vaccines.phila.gov\/index.php\/bridge-access-program-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Bridge Access Program Update"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Bridge Access Program Update<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you for your continued efforts in ensuring that Philadelphia community members have access to the COVID-19 vaccine. <strong>We regret to inform you that the federally funded Bridge Access Program (BAP) has ended before the original closure date of December 31st, 2024. <\/strong>This difficult decision was reached due to congressional rescissions in the FY 2024 Further Consolidated Appropriations Act. <strong>With the FDA\u2019s approval of the updated COVID-19 vaccines for the 2024 &#8211; 2025 season, all previous COVID-19 vaccines are now unauthorized for use and should not be administered.<\/strong> \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To minimize the risk of\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/vaccines\/covid-19\/clinical-considerations\/interim-considerations-us-appendix.html#appendix-b\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/vaccines\/covid-19\/clinical-considerations\/interim-considerations-us-appendix.html#appendix-b\">vaccine administration errors<\/a>, providers should:\u202f\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Remove all 2023\u20132024 COVID-19 vaccines from storage units immediately, even if they are not expired.\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Return all unused 2023\u20132024 COVID-19 vaccines to McKesson using the normal process for returning spoiled\/expired vaccines in PhilaVax. Use\u202fthis <a href=\"https:\/\/vaccines.phila.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/v1_Guide-to-Returning-Vaccine-12-20-2023.pdf\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/vaccines.phila.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/v1_Guide-to-Returning-Vaccine-12-20-2023.pdf\">guide<\/a>\u202fto assist you in the return process.\u00a0\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mark the reason as &#8220;Other&#8221; then in the comment box type in Deauthorized.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Next Steps for Vaccinating Uninsured &amp; Underinsured Patients<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The FDA has approved and authorized the 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna. &nbsp;<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What to Know&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Everyone ages 6 months and older should get a 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine products are <strong>not<\/strong> available through the Bridge Access Program.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The 2023\u20132024 Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines are no longer authorized for use.<strong> \u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Immunization Program has been awarded limited funds to allow providers previously enrolled in the Bridge Program to order a small quantity of the updated 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine. <strong>Please note that these doses are limited<\/strong>. Review your site\u2019s usage over the 2023-2024 season and order small amounts of COVID-19 vaccine. Large orders may be reduced due to our limited supply. You will be notified when ordering is open in the next few weeks. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong> We value your efforts in vaccinating underinsured and uninsured adults and want to express our gratitude for your continued participation in our programs.
