{"id":11082,"date":"2024-03-25T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-25T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vaccines.phila.gov\/?post_type=lsvr_notice&#038;p=8856"},"modified":"2024-09-11T15:50:22","modified_gmt":"2024-09-11T19:50:22","slug":"rsv-season-ends-march-31","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vaccines.phila.gov\/index.php\/rsv-season-ends-march-31\/","title":{"rendered":"RSV Season Ends March 31"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>RSV Season Ends March 31<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>As the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) season draws to a close on March 31, we want to remind all healthcare providers of important considerations regarding administering nirsevimab (Beyfortus) and RSV immunization.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>End of RSV season:<\/strong> The RSV season officially concludes on March 31. Therefore, it is essential to administer all remaining doses of nirsevimab to eligible children before April 1.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Do not discard unused immunizations:<\/strong> If you possess surplus doses of nirsevimab at the end of this RSV season, <strong>do not discard them<\/strong>. The expiration date for Beyfortus has been extended to two years. These doses can be safely stored and utilized when the RSV season resumes on October 1. \u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We recognize the challenges encountered during this RSV season and extend our gratitude to all healthcare providers for their patience, flexibility, and perseverance.
