{"id":11000,"date":"2022-07-22T16:11:26","date_gmt":"2022-07-22T20:11:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vaccines.phila.gov\/?post_type=lsvr_notice&#038;p=7269"},"modified":"2024-09-11T15:51:57","modified_gmt":"2024-09-11T19:51:57","slug":"novavax-vaccine-available-for-limited-ordering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vaccines.phila.gov\/index.php\/novavax-vaccine-available-for-limited-ordering\/","title":{"rendered":"Novavax Vaccine Available for Limited Ordering"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>Novavax Vaccine Available for Limited Ordering<\/strong><\/h1>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>On Tuesday, the CDC endorsed the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices\u2019 (ACIP) recommendation that the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine be used as an option for adults ages 18 years and older.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/><br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Some key information:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Novavax is the first COVID-19 protein subunit vaccine that the CDC has recommended for use in the United States.<\/li>\n<li>ACIP\u2019s vote\u2014which follows the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)\u2019s emergency use authorization\u2014is for the use of the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine for adults ages 18 and older as a two-dose primary series.\n<ul>\n<li>This recommendation is for all adults, including those who are moderately or severely immunocompromised.<\/li>\n<li>Individuals who receive Novavax are not eligible for any boosters at this time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Allocations of Novavax will be limited.\n<ul>\n<li>Participating Federal Retail Pharmacies will be eligible to receive Novavax.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Ordering:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><u><strong>Ordering for Novavax will open up on Monday 7\/25\/22.<\/strong><\/u>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The minimum order quantity is 100 doses. Partial, Monday.com, ordering is not currently available. \u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Presently, we are expected to receive only one allocation of Novavax vaccine for our providers to order against.
